Nokia N900 Smartphone

Bikini - Hp Nokia memulai debut smartphone-nya dengan Maemo, sebuah sistem operasi baru besutan Nokia yang berbasiskan Linux untuk sebuah perangkat ponsel. Perangkat seluler pertama yang mendapatkan kesempatan tersebut adalah Nokia N900. Sebelumnya Maemo 5 digunakan untuk komputer tablet Nokia.

Nokia N900 merupakan smartphone pertama Nokia yang dipasarkan dengan menggunakan Maemo sebagai sistem operasi utamanya. Nokia sebelumnya lebih dikenal dengan Symbian-nya. Dengan Maemo, Nokia berharap akan tetap menjadi produsen ponsel nomor satu dunia.

Perangkat Maemo pertama ini menghadirkan berbagai fitur-fitur menarik yang disertakan. Salah satu perangkat lunak menarik yang dihadirkan adalah browser Mozilla Firefox yang dilengkapi dengan fitur Flash. Penggunaan Mozilla menegaskan bahwa Nokia ingin memberikan pengalaman lebih kepada pengguna N900 dalam hal ber-internet ria.

Penggunaan keyboard QWERTY dengan model geser (slide) dengan dukungan fitur touchscreen yang responsif memberikan nilai lebih pada N900. Untuk prosesor, Nokia mempercayakan ARM Cortex-A8 yang mendukung OpenGL ES 2.0, sementara untuk memori penyimpanan, N900 dipasangkan RAM 256MB.

Akan tetapi, keberadaan keyboard QWERY tersebut menjadikan ketebalan dari perangkat tersebut agak gemuk, sehingga apabila ditaruh di kantung akan terlihat 'menyembul', walaupun pada saat dipegang masih terasa nyaman.

Untuk bagian casing depan tidak terdapat tombol dengan ukuran layar N900 berukuran 3.5 inchi, memang tidak terlalu lebar dibandingkan dengan lainnya. Resolusi maksimal yang bisa pengguna dapatkan 800x480 piksel.

Dibelakang layar terdapat kamera berukuran 5 megapiksel dengan fitur dual LED flash yang dilengkapi dengan cover untuk mencegah lensa tergores yang berbentuk slide, sedangkan sisi kanan-kiri casing terdapat beberapa fitur melengkapi kecanggihan smartphone Nokia yang satu ini, selain memudahkan pengguna.

Fitur touchscreen yang terdapat pada N900 memiliki tingkat responsif yang cukup baik dalam penggunaanya. Pengguna juga akan mendapatkan sebuah pen touchscreen. Untuk berselancar di internet, N900 dipersenjatai dengan fitur-fitur jaringan, seperti Bluetooth dan Wi-Fi.

Bikini - Persaingan Anas Urbaningrum dan Andi Mallarangeng dalam bursa ketua umum DPP Partai Demokrat makin panas. Kubu Anas menyatakan dukungan untuk politisi asal Blitar ini terus ’’diganggu’’ pihak lawan.

’’Kita mendapat laporan. Tapi, biarkan saja mereka pakai cara seperti itu (intimidasi), itu justru tidak menarik simpati. Mungkin mereka kurang percaya diri sehingga melakukan hal itu,’’ kata Ahmad Mubarok, pendukung setia Anas, di Jakarta, Rabu (21/4).

Sebelumnya, dalam konsolidasi di Jawa Timur dan Bali, tim Andi Mallarangeng memang meminta dukungan DPC secara tertulis dengan membubuhkan tanda tangan. Bahkan beberapa DPC yang tidak hadir atau berhalangan ditelepon agar juga memilih Andi dalam Kongres PD mendatang.

Mubarok yang juga Wakil Ketua Umum DPP Partai Demokrat itu mengatakan, dukungan terhadap Anas tidak akan berubah walau ditekan dan diintimidasi tim kandidat lain. Sebab, Anas menawarkan program dan komitmen pembangunan partai sehat dan berwibawa.

’’Mereka melakukan cara-cara yang tidak fair itu karena melihat begitu kuatnya dukungan DPC kepada Anas. Kita tidak akan mereaksi. Biarkan saja. Justru cara mereka membuat kita semakin solid dan kuat,’’ papar Mubarok.

Sebelumnya, Mubarok membeberkan penyebaran SMS yang mendeskreditkan Anas. SMS pertama terjadi saat Anas akan deklarasi. Bunyi SMS itu, ’’Deklarasi Anas batal’’. SMS kedua, ’’Anas tidak direstui SBY’’. SMS ketiga memelintir isi pidato Anas dalam Deklarasi.

Dalam pidatonya, Anas menyatakan bahwa peran SBY yang sangat penting dan sentral bagi Partai Demokrat ingin ditransformasikan dengan menjadikan Demokrat sebagai partai modern. ’’Namun kemudian dipelintir seakan-akan Anas ingin melepas Demokrat dari pengaruh SBY. Seolah-olah Anas ingin memutus peran SBY,’’ tutur Mubarok.

Mubarok juga menyatakan meminta DPC dan DPD yang mendapat tekanan dari tim sukses calon tertentu untuk tidak melawan. Namun, justru membuktikan perlawanannya saat Kongres dan pemilihan ketua umum. ’’Kita menganjurkan berpolitik secara dewasa, kita tidak minta tanda tangan dukungan, apalagi menekan. Kita akan tetap menggunakan cara yang soft power, bukan hard power,’’ ujarnya.

Tentang klaim kubu Andi Mallarangeng yang mendapat dukungan Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) dan keluarganya, Mubarok yakin SBY tak berpihak. SBY tetap memberikan restu kepada semua kader PD yang maju.

Dalam beberapa kesempatan, tim Andi Mallarangeng memang terus mengampanyekan dukungan keluarga SBY kepada Andi. Bahkan secara terang-terangan tim sukses Andi yang juga ketua DPD PD DKI Jakarta, Nahrawi Ramli, mengklaim SBY hanya mendukung dan memberi restu Andi.

Klaim kubu Andi ini diperkuat masuknya Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas) dalam jajaran tim sukses mereka. Ibas bahkan ikut road show dan kampanye untuk kemenangan Andi. Dalam beberapa momen konsolidasi tim Andi, Ibas juga membacakan deklarasi dukungan DPD dan DPC yang hadir.

Kongres Partai Demokrat digelar 21-23 Mei mendatang di Bandung. Kubu Andi mengklaim telah meraup dukungan 70 persen pemilik hak suara dalam Kongres Demokrat. Anas yang berasal dari Blitar juga terus konsolisasi. DPD dan DPC Jawa Timur banyak yang mendukungnya. Selain itu, politisi senior PD seperti Achmad Mubarok, Ruhut Sitompul, Yahya Sacawiria, Benny K. Harman, dan Angelina Sondakh ada di barisannya.

Bersihkan Baliho ‎

Watch Movie Online - Pasca ditetapkan Cabup Kediri akhir pekan lalu, Panwaslu Kabupaten Kediri langsung bertindak membersihkan tanda gambar cabup, mulai poster, spanduk hingga baliho yang berterbaran di sepanjang jalan dan pelosok desa. Semua gambar itu nanti akan diganti dengan yang baru, sesuai yang ditetapkan Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU).

Pencopotan tanda Gambar Lucu itu dimulai Senin (19/4) pagi di kawasan Gurah, Pare, Kepung dan kawasan lainnya. Sore harinya, Ketua Panwaslu, Muntoha, juga terjun langsung untuk melepas tanda gambar di sekitar Kecamatan Ngasem dan Gampengrejo. Tapi, sejumlah baliho berukuran besar yang sempat bertengger di perempatan jalan, sudah bersih.

“Ternyata anggota panwaslu yang ada di setiap kecamatan sudah bergerak. Sedangkan gambar-gambar yang dipaku di pohon-pohon dan ditengarai merusak pemandangan juga akan terus dibersihkan,” jelas Muntoha.

Sejumlah spanduk yang tertempel dipohon, sebagian isinya menyindir dan menghujat pihak lain. “Spanduk itu dalam dua atau tiga hari lagi sudah harus bersih. Dengan begitu, tidak ada lagi terpasang spanduk, poster atau baliho yang bernada menghujat dan lainnya,” ujar Muntoha.

Pada Selasa (20/4), Panwaslu dan KPU beserta aparat kemanan dan tim kampanye, akan membahas teknis berkampanye. Materi apa saja yang boleh disampaikan dan tempat-tempat yang diperbolehkan sebagai tempat kampanye akan diputuskan dalam pembahasan itu.

“Ttidak semua tempat, termasuk lapangan, bisa untuk kampanye. Misalnya lapangan yang berdekatan dengan tempat ibadah atau lapangan yang dekat dengan lembaga pendidikan, tidak boleh dipakai untuk kampanye. Ini semua akan kami bahas,” jelas Wakil Ketua KPU, Sempu Dwi Cahyono. gim

Local travel agents are today scanning running reports on all weekend departures and then updating clients booked to fly into Europe.

"We will have a better picture of how the situation will affect Tasmanian travellers in 72 hours or so," Nathan Darke from Andrew Jones Travel said yesterday.

"We would have about 40 clients across our offices booked to fly overseas but not all are destined for Europe.

"Some people are stuck in Asia as airlines wait for the situation to improve at European airports.

"There are no harrowing tales to tell at this stage. But we are getting a lot of calls from people who are booked to head off next week."

Mr Darke said common sense was still prevailing as the travel industry waited to see how long it took for the ash cloud to clear.

"It is a one-off kind of situation that has nothing to do with human error and so far people are calm," he said.

"Airlines today are good at getting rid of backlogs and everything should be back to normal in a couple of days."

But that depends on whether the Eyjafjallajokull volcano continues to erupt.

Discovering a New World of Poetry‎

Telenovelas - After all, critic Joseph Epstein said so about 20 years ago in a famous essay called "Who Killed Poetry?" But then two things blew the Bradley University professor out of his academic cloister: the State of Illinois and the World Wide Web.

The former chose him as Illinois Poet Laureate back in 2003 - in effect, putting Stein on the road to libraries, schools, nursing homes and elsewhere where he was surprised to learn that actual, nonacademic human beings crave and love the poetic word.

The latter propelled him into the virtual reality of the Internet where more people are encountering more poetry than ever before. Where the very idea of poetry itself is changing as once stable collections of words on a page are exchanged for words in cyberspace, a realm that makes a poem seem less like a thing and more like a performance: Poems can be merged with moving images and even altered by online readers.

Both experiences have informed Stein's latest book of essays, "Poetry's Afterlife: Verse in a Digital Age," which will be released by the University of Michigan Press next month. (It also will be available in digital form through the University of Michigan library.)

"The book is a re-examination of what poetry in the moment is doing - if it died, how it is enjoying a rather nice aesthetic hereafter right now," said Stein, who will be honored by Secretary of State Jesse White at a summer conference for Illinois school and public libraries. "I have chapters on youth poetry. I have a chapter there about my work as poet laureate. I have a chapter on digital poetry, computer-generated and computer-aided poetry - a lot of research into work I didn't know anything about until then. And just what's happening as pen and paper disappear and everything is becoming digitalized."

Digitalized poetry can be defined in several ways.

The term can signify poetry that has existed on paper but carries on another life in the virtual world. More intriguing, "digitalized poetry" can mean writing that has never appeared on paper at all - its natural home is a gallery site in virtual space.

Listen to Stein long enough, and it becomes obvious that digital poetry is anything but the print experience in another form. On the contrary, poetry online is becoming its own art form - one that is closer to cinema than to conventional poetry as it interweaves moving images, sounds and text.

Other experiments with online poetry go even further.

"Some people argue that digital poetry is meant to be participatory, so when you enter into a poem, you make choices, you move things around, the text alters," Stein said. "Other folks have made digital poetry games. (One example is) 'Arteroids' - like asteroids. What you blow up are little poems, and they create other poems. The final expression of that is a site that creates a visual and textual poem where you upload your words and your images and they became part of this amalgam of other people's words and images. The whole idea of authorship is questioned there, of course. Is this really a poem?"

Philosophical questions aside, such innovations mean losses and gains. For instance, more than ever, would-be poets can circumvent official gatekeepers like publishers and reach an audience directly. Yet at the same time, a lot of poetry online, as Stein candidly acknowledges, is just junk. On the one hand, exciting new technological tools of expression prove fun and irresistibly enticing for many. On the other, there is always the threat that flash will replace substance.

But before those wedded to the printed page raise too much fuss, it's important to remember that the printed text itself was once a suspicious innovation, Stein said.

"Imagine those oral poets who never wrote their work down and always performed orally - imagine how they cursed the book," Stein said. " 'How can you write down the poem? It's meant to be read to a person, it's meant to be read to an audience! You're killing it by putting it on the page!' A hundred years later, that argument was absent."

Triunfo Del Amor - Guruh Sukarnoputra menyatakan, jika diminta kembali bergabung di kepengurusan Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan, ia akan berdiskusi panjang dengan ketua umum terpilih. "Jika PDI Perjuangan menjadi partai yang oligarkis, hanya menampung kepentingan aspirasi elite partai, saya tidak mau," kata Guruh, Rabu (7/4), di Sanur, Denpasar, Bali.

Ia menyatakan, memang ada sejumlah elite partai yang ingin menjadikan PDIP sebagai alat kepentingan mereka sendiri. "[Tapi], saya tidak mau menyebut nama. Tidak etis," kata adik Megawati Sukarnoputri yang upayanya mencalonkan diri sebagai ketua umum di Kongres III PDIP terganjal itu.Sekalipun mengakui tetap menghormati persaudaraan, baik secara biologis maupun ideologis, Guruh Sukarnoputra mengungkapkan, komunikasinya dengan sang kakak sulung Megawati Sukarnoputri terputus. Ia mengatakan itu dalam temu wartawan di Segara Village, Sanur, Denpasar, Bali, Rabu (7/4). Terutama, sehubungan dengan tekadnya sejak awal melakukan penyelamatan partai dan kakaknya itu dari kelompok elite tertentu yang disebutnya sebagai "para begundal" dan kaum "keblinger".

"Sebenarnya kami selalu berhubungan, dan saya selalu berinisiatif membangun komunikasi itu. Tetapi belakangan (terutama menyongsong dan di saat Kongres III Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan di Bali--Red.), hubungan kami terputus," ungkapnya kepada pers, yang datang di Segara Village, Sanur, sekitar 500 meter dari lokasi kongres di Hotel Inna Grand Bali Beach.

Guruh Sukarnoputra menambahkan, penyelamatan partai--dari upaya para "begundal" yang mengarahkan PDIP semakin jauh dari landasan ideologi Pancasila serta ajaran Bung Karno lainnya--mestinya bisa dilakukan. Terutama, bila Megawati tidak dibiarkan dikelilingi kaum "keblinger" tersebut.
"Dan sebelum ini (kongres), kami selalu berhubungan. Saya selalu melakukannya. Tetapi belakangan mbak Mega belum memberi waktu. Tanyakan ke dia saja," katanya. Padahal, imbuh dia, ia berharap bisa terus memberi masukan kepada kakaknya itu tentang upaya menyelamatkan PDIP sebagai partai rakyat sejati, yaitu kekuatan politik "wong cilik" berideologi ajaran Bung Karno. Faktanya, menurut Guruh, kini PDIP semakin jauh dari jati dirinya itu.
